Yes I had heard about Prince’s decision to distribute his new CD in the UK that way. Very smart for him! He gets paid in advance and doesn’t have to wait for it to sell. I absolutely love new models of distribution, which is probably why the RIAA is fighting back so hard. That organization has single handedly done more damage to the music business than any other entity. They’re in it to protect record companies; not artists and certainly not consumers. I’m just hoping that Net-Radio operators can come to some kind of settlement outside of that ludicris royalty rate the RIAA is demanding.

Oh speaking of lunatics… it seems as tho our buddy Sarkozy is cuddling up to Kahdafi and offering some French nuclear technology.

Um, well, I don’t know if it would be a question of ‘minding’ so much, but rather what would be appropriate. I’m not one for casual flings, so it probably wouldn’t ever happen that way. But, Lisa has boyfriends and they have nothing to do with me, and she’s never invited me to join her with any of them and I doubt she ever would. But, I don’t think my husband would mind if Lisa and I had a third for our tea parties! I’ll have to ask him about that one!

Well, given that I’d have a problem with my husband sleeping with strange women, I think he’d have a problem with me sleeping with strange men. That’s a simple one. We’re not swingers, we don’t have an open relationship, and that’s not really our thing.

When I was divorced from my husband, I dated a guy and had threesomes with him and one of his friends, making me the girlmeat in the boy sandwich, and my husband also had his share of sexual adventured while we were apart, so in many ways there’s a ‘been there, done that’ kind of attitude. But if we (my husband and I) decided to do that ourselves, I doubt Lisa would mind. But so far, it hasn’t come up, tho I think he likes the ratio of two women to one man, and honestly, I’m not terribly interested in bringing another guy into the equation. Way too much work!!!

I haven’t seen that sitcom tho!

Those are such great points, and I completely agree. We seem to attach disproportionate value to things like music and movie piracy, and I’m personally sick of hearing all of the propaganda about how illegal downloading is killing the music industry! How about better A&R, a better distribution system (like iTunes or other digital methods) The subscription model is stupid, but that’s what all the record companies want because they can sell the same thing over and over again (which they do anyway), but people want to own their music!

The internet radio mess is yet another example of how the greed of a few completely screws the consumer and the artists. Wait, I think I’ll be joining you in France!
