Things to do in Simotuki…

autumn

And just like that… October becomes November and autumn is really here. My backyard is a sea of red, orange and yellow leaves which everyday fall like a peaceful silent rain under bright azure skies, and with the remnants of Hurricane Noel heading for my shores this weekend, we’re likely to lose a few more, as well as some of those old tree limbs off the weeping willow on the left side of the house. It’s gotten cold here too; all my outdoor plants are now comfortably inside the house and the winds which whip and howl around the chimney are lulled away by the sound of the furnace kicking on in the middle of the night as I pull the blankets up tight around my neck and close my eyes as I drift back into the woolly embrace of sleep. This is my favorite time of year.

So baseball season is over and I’ve been going thru a few days of withdrawal; reading sports columns, blogs, watching parades, and thinking about my boys of summer and their fantastic season, but it’s time to move on from baseball for now, because I have no intention of turning geishaland into a sports blog even tho I really do enjoy writing about the topic – it’s time to get things back to some kind of lazy geisha normal around here, whatever that is, and I’ve actually got a whole lot to work on as well as some really cool ideas I’ve been wanting to explore too.

It seems as tho everytime I take a few days away from cyberia my inbox fills up with some really fantastic emails from people who read here – and the most predictable one was from my friend Amy.

“Hey girl! Now that the Red Sox won the World Series, again… lol… can we expect you to get off your ass and write some of those reviews? “

sigh…. Yeah, I’ve been really shitty about getting those done, I know. But it gives us all something to look forward to, right? But I’ve got the following products to review:

The LELO GIGI – a great g-spot vibrator that I’ve used about four times so far and it’s totally amazing too! I can’t wait to work on writing that one! (Review here!)

Two glass dildos from Phallix – which are simply to die for! I love glass products and these two didn’t disappoint in any way!

The Soju Sugar – (review here) A silicone dildo with such a natural and amazing shape and texture that it feels like its part of you! Completely yummy and is one of my new favorites!

This vibrating cock ring thing that they sent for me to try with Jeff – it’s a lot of fun but we have to keep working on using this one. Maybe I can get Jeff to write that for me, we’ll see.

And what else…?

Oh yes, for Black Label Adult Shop I’ve got the LELO Elise to review (review here) which is probably one of the best personal massagers and pleasure products I’ve ever used. I’m so taken by the entire LELO line (NEA review here). They really are the best in pleasure products for the money out there, (Interview with Bliss of Black Label Adult Shop here).

Then another friend wrote me and asked, “Hey… what every happened with that HBO thing you were working on?”

Oh right. I was asked to review and do some write ups on the new HBO show Tell Me You Love Me, and even tho I have my standard good excuse about being all caught up in baseball, the biggest reason I haven’t done anything with that is because I really don’t like the show, and soon I’ll be writing about why. Then, I have a company which makes the HPV test writing me wanting me to write about that, which I agreed to do, but I so hate being under the gun to do anything – so when I get to it I’ll write about that too.

Then I got a really sweet email from a woman who said, “I’ve been reading your site lazy geisha for a while, and I just wanted to thank you. You’ve really helped me become comfortable with my own sexuality.” – and another email I received recently from a guy says, “Ya know, lazy geisha should be required reading for every male, probably around their 18th birthday…come to think of it girls too…that would put a lot of marriage counselors out of business.”

These kinds of emails really make me smile because they remind me why I took my journal in the direction I did, and why I walked away from the dysfunctional narcissism I felt myself surrounded with last year. Being able to help someone else is the greatest gift and the greatest compliment I could ever receive. I’m truly touched and humbled that I’ve had such a positive effect on other people’s relationships.

So what else….?

Oh yes! Almost forgot! Just before the baseball post-season started I did an interview with Suki from OhMiBod, (OhMiBod Review Here), which I’m really excited about and will be putting the finishing touches on in the next few days, (interview here). Plus, I’ve got a couple of other interviews lined up which should be just as interesting!

And finally, I’ve been wanting to wander back into some erotic writing, but I want to do things a little differently than I’ve done in the past. I’m going to create an area in geishaland for this new material, but it will be semi-private, meaning that you’ll need a password to access that area. When the time comes there will be instructions on how to gain access, but after giving this some thought, I think this is the right decision for me and for my work.

So, it’s Friday! Yay! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for reading!

Aishiteru wa!

Busy, busy, busy.

Life can get entirely too busy at times can’t it, gorgeous?

I love the Fall too, it’s so incredibly beautiful even here where the leaves remain stubbornly green–sigh).

I think making your erotic work semi-private is a wonderful idea. Erotica, particularly when it’s personal, is a very intimate thing and far too many people out here in cyberia just don’t respect that.

Mwah, my love!

Hello Angel!

Oh yes… I’ve been insanely busy this month no doubt! It’s tough trying to find the right balance, but you know, family, work, and life all come before cyberia.

I remember how strange it was to see green in January when we lived down in your neck of the woods! hahaha! But it is very pretty too. It’s so nice here when the seasons change, and love the time when we’re slipping into winter.

Well, the decision to restrict access to some of my work was something I went back and forth with for a while, but I feel most comfortable with doing it this way, and you’re exactly right as to why. When we reach deep inside our own erotic core to write or to express and share our own experiences, it’s intensely personal, and I just don’t need or want that kind of attention, even tho I still feel the need to express those things. That’s just not why I do this you know? But, we’ll have to play it by ear and see what happens!

Thank you my sweetest angel!

love always,

So you’re actually getting an autumn this year?

Global warming has destroyed it for me.

Thank you for all your Sox coverage - for you passion and love for the team and the fans. Looking forward to your new reviews!

I also love fall, I think it’s because it’s a season of change. Winter and summer are seasons that are great when they start but wear out their welcome. Going for a hike with the leaves crunching, getting that first frost and dusting of snow, it is just wonderful.

You of course have a baseball season to look back on and celebrate, my team came in fourth in the AL East for the ninth year in a row (thank God for Tampa Bay).

As for your blog, I loved the menage a trois series and I hope it continues. I sure hope I also get a password, because I would really miss your beautiful writing. As long as it’s not about the Red Sox…. :-\

C Munky,

Hmmmmm… Well, yes, we are getting an autumn here in the northeast.

I’m not quite sure how to respond to your remark about global warming except to say that I hope it encourages you to vote for leaders who will do something about it - unlike the oilmen currently in charge of the US government who deny the science.

L.,

Thanks so much! I’m a die hard member of Red Sox Nation and it’s a lot of fun writing about baseball! I’ll probably write some more things in the off season, but I’ll keep them off the front page. So you can find them in the baseball section of geishaland!

Thanks!

Hi Rob,

Oh yes! I also love doing all of those autumn/winter outdoor things. I went for my walk this morning in the wind and rain and loved it! With my umbrella of course but it was a lot of fun.

Ah yes, the poor Orioles! Well, you have Kevin Millar! You know, I thought the last game of the season between Baltimore and the Yankees was really disrespectful of your team. I found it really embarrassing for baseball that Joe Torre turned management duties for the game over to Jorge Posada. It was a really classless move and I’m personally really sick and tired of hearing about how Joe Torre is such a classy guy. It’s a bunch of bullshit, but what really makes me happy is just how irrelevant the Yankees have become. I always like a competitive AL East, but I take a lot of joy in seeing NY fail.

Oh thanks! The menage a trois series is very personal to me. And yes, there will be instructions posted on how to gain access to the new material once it’s online.

Thanks much!

Happy holidays.

Take 11 minutes to enjoy New Year’s Eve as the Germans (and Swiss, Australians, South Africans and Latvians) do.

Every New Year’s Eve, half of all Germans plunk down in front of their televisions to watch a 1963 English comedy sketch called Dinner for One. … The show’s popularity has spread to Scandinavia, where it is typically watched on December 23, as well as Switzerland, Austria, South Africa, Australia, and Latvia….

Even though Dinner for One is, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the most frequently repeated TV program ever, it has never been aired in the United Kingdom or the United States, and most of the English-speaking world is ignorant of its existence…

What this says about the world, you decide. Happy New Year.

Dinner for One

And here’s one I think you might like. The guy’s a doctor, or maybe he plays one on tv, I forget. Mystery.

Here’s the lyrics if you want to sing along. ;)

Much love and Namaste.

Lazy Ichi,

Thanks so much sweetheart! I really enjoyed these! You always cheer me up!

Well that’s goodness. See, the bartender would’ve sold you a beer. ;)

Btw, I highly recommend Firebrand, (also on ION at 11p Eastern) which has some of the best commercials (also available from iTunes).

I’m off to begin the holiday traditions soon starting with “The Further Adventures of Nick Danger” from one of my faves, Firesign Theatre.

Happy New Year to both you and Jeff.

Lazy Ichi,

Thanks sweetheart, and thanks for the links as always! I hope you enjoy your holidays too.

We took a long weekend out on Cape Cod and just got home yesterday, so I’m just trying to get back into the swing of things.

Here are a couple of viewing “traditions” we have. No, not the old standbys like “It’s a Wonderful Life” or anything like that.

As would be expected, something off the beaten path.

First, we have Due South: Gift of the Wheelman. Yes, I’m a Dueser, and like all Duesers, loved the quirks that made this series well-written and loved by its followers.

Second, nothing says love like The Ref with Denis Leary, Kevin Spacey, and Judy Davis. The Nativity Scene says it all.

;)

Lazy Ichi,

It’s good to have those traditions. Tho I do like “It’s a Wonderful Life” hahaha!

But you know, from my perspective, the holidays are a lot of work and they fly by so fast that I don’t often get time to enjoy them! Just another curse we’re stuck with! hahahaha! No woman gets to enjoy the holidays…

Thanks!
