joyAnother Christmas has come and gone. We’re burnt out on visiting family, eating strange cuisine, and exchanging gifts with loved ones. It isn’t that I don’t like Christmas, but from a mother’s point of view, it’s a lot of damn work! I keep reminding myself that the real joy of the holiday is seeing that wonderful look of surprise on my son’s face when he wakes up and surveys the large pile of neatly wrapped presents (all with his name on them) sitting under the Christmas Tree waiting for him to tear thru them as if he’s on some kind of scorched earth mission – and even tho we all know that there’s no Santa Claus, every mother wants to preserve that tender innocence and precious illusion for her child for as long as she can. Yes, he’s a teenager now, but all that means is that the gifts get more expensive! They grow up so fast and it seems as if it were only yesterday that we were fighting with him to go to bed on Christmas Eve; spending hours looking out his bedroom window up at the stars in the hopes of seeing Santa Claus and his reindeer streak across the sky – but now I get, “Hey Ma, whadya get me this year?” and “Can we exchange this?”

morningWe actually had a very nice and lovely day together. Jeff got up and cooked our traditional Christmas brunch after we were done opening gifts – then the two of them spent the next hour hooking up my son’s new iMac and transferring data from his old computer to the new one, then figuring out how to use his new iPod Touch (a very cool toy!), and then we had dinner, went to bed, and it was all over… until I got up this morning and took my son out to fight the crowds in the return line. A mother’s work is never done. Tho two of his Christmas presents didn’t show up until today because I bought them directly from Japan and they were held up in customs at JFK in New York… fuckers.

We’ve never been into the whole religious aspect of Christmas, even tho it’s supposed to be a religious holiday, but I do enjoy seeing family members and catching up with what’s going on in everyone else’s lives. We did most of that last weekend and on Christmas Eve so the three of us could spend yesterday together. So – now it’s done!

waterToday also marks my two year blogging anniversary! It was two years ago today that I first put my thoughts out into cyberia and launched geishaland. It wasn’t in this space of course. I started out using the free Blogger service like a lot of people, and then moved into better accommodations six months after that. There’s been a lot of history here and a lot of people have surfed by my humble digital home. Some stayed around for a while, others were just passing thru, and some are still here – and even tho this space has grown and changed a lot over the last two years, what truly makes me happy is that I’m still here and I still have a place to share my thoughts and ideas with those who choose to share some of their time with me. In two years there have been some great discussions on topics of sexuality, life, philosophy, baseball, cool geeky things, sex toys, relationships, breast implants, womens health, and how to just get along out here in cyberia. I hope 2008 is as interesting as the last two years have been, and if this latest email which I received this morning is any indication, I’m thinking it will be!

I am in love with your blog and your sexy asian ass.
My wife wants to eat your pussy until you scream her
name. In Japanese.

Now how can a girl turn down an offer like that?

Thanks for a great two years and I hope everyone has safe and happy holidays. Aishiteru wa!

Nice sentiment! I was surprised by my tweens’ reactions, they were far more excited than I thought possible. Of course, they immediately wanted a sleepover to “share” (show-off) their new goodies.

    So, two sleepless nights later….

Anyway, you can tell dominic that his wife is going to have to wait to hear her name being screamed because my wife calls dibs on sitting on Nina’s face!

Only two years ? It seems like you’ve been here forever ! Fortunately I came across your blog a year ago, so I guess I’m lucky to have been around for the second half !
Ha ! I guess Dominic’s mail is gonna set the stage for 2008 !
Now, just where should I position myself ? ;)

    dinsdale_piranha,

Well, our son was elated about his Christmas gifts this year, and we usually have a house-full of boys on a regular basis too. We kind of alternate with the other parents, so one weekend we get all the boys, and then the next weekend we get the house to ourselves which works out really nice for everyone. But we’ve had one of our son’s friends here for the last three nights! They’re playing with his new iMac and video games!

lmao! Hmmm, your wife has first dibs huh? Well sweetie, you wouldn’t believe me if I told you just how weird this exchange has become over the last couple of days! (more later I think!) — but I guess it just goes to show that I was right about the whole bi-curious thing back when I wrote it!

    Thanks!

    xoxo,

    princesse.x,

Yes! Only two years sweetheart! lmao! Where has the time gone to? It’s so funny to me when I think back to when I started and the things I used to write about and how much has changed from then. I looked around recently at some of the blogs I used to read and it seems as if they’re all in the exact same place that they were two years ago when I started — their lives haven’t changed one bit. So, I guess I’m really pleased that I’ve evolved and that I no longer feel restricted. I think I need to write about some of these things in a post soon too.

Yes, well, I also need to write about the follow up! As for where you should position yourself… well sweetie, right next to me is a perfect place to start!

    Mwah!

    saratoga,

Thank you sweetheart! Two years of slugging it out in cyberia is pretty good I’d say! But wow, how things have really changed! (For the better I think too!)

    Thanks!!! :kissing:

    xoxo,
    nina
