hapes,

Well -- I imagine that even the people of West Chester, PA don't want the Catholic Church and self appointed guardian of morality Eddie Deliman telling them what to do and how to live their lives.

People only have so much tolerance for this kind of meddling bullshit.

Dan,

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with me. Tho, I feel that we should clarify a couple of things here for accuracy.

While "Rome" pulls the strings, there is a small degree of autonomy for each church. Tho I would imagine that the Philadelphia Archdiocese is WELL AWARE of what Eddie Deliman is up to, and is also likely making funding and legal representation and advisors available to Saint Agnes.

The Catholic Church is like any other company in the world: There's a hierarchy and rules to how things work and get done. Eddie Deliman doesn't have the autonomy to pull off this random act of aggression -- he's being backed up by Philly.

Lawyers for the church are likely going to use the "Secondary Effects" approach to attacking Feminique Boutique -- even tho the Secondary Effects data has been discredited. Jill is going to need a lawyer who knows their way around this issue.

But based on everything I've reported, there's NO WAY Jill's shop can even be considered an Adult Entertainment or Adult Bookstore establishment.

She still need to have a good lawyer tho. What actually interests me, is that she said that she already cleared this hurdle with the zoning board in order to open. I personally can't understand why the zoning board is even considering this appeal by the church.

Hapes,

I think we all should thank our lucky stars that we're not from I-N-D-I-A-N-A, where they answer "WHOS HERE" when someone knocks at the door (btw, it's where the term "Hoosier" was derived from). For the life of me, I can't think of anyone famous who admitted they were from Indiana.

I'm just sayin' .... ;)

Tones for a Thursday...

I will pay a MILLION (imaginary) dollars to the first person who can come up with a way to indicate just the tone I was going for in a post.

FWIW: I know any statements made about PA residents were generalizations, and thus do not include clueful people like myself. If I can be considered clueful. I mean, I'm more clueful than, oh, certain priests we know.

I was attempting to indicate 'yeah, you're right, but there are points of light within the darkness'.

This is one more example where the elected politicians have allowed religion to slowly supersede the United States Constitution. the Vatican is another country at least that is what they claim, therefore another country as well as a religion is telling this community that they are going to use the courts of this country to suppress freedom for adults to decide for themselves what they will watch, do, behave or buy. this church ought have its tax exempt status revoked immediately and if further intrusion into the secular political process continues they ought to be classified as terrorists and treated as we treat any other religion that attempts to destroy America. Americans claim extreme Islam is destroying America and would place Sharia law into force if it had its way. I say this country, ie. Vatican, is challenging America's Constitution, wanting to make freedom of choice for women a crime, wanting to continue the control of what American's watch
and numerous other areas of behavior therefore they are a bona fide terrorist country and its representatives must be brought to justice and imprisoned or sent back to Rome and the Vatican. This is a secular country that gives religion the freedom to worship as it pleases NOT to overthrow this country!
