It’s so normal it’s almost boring; just a quiet Friday night at home sans whips or handcuffs.  Since I’d been battling a migraine from the night before, and, believe it or not, I don’t want to go out every weekend – I talked to Lisa in the late afternoon yesterday and asked her if she just wanted to come down and have movie night with us.  We decided on some take out hot wings and pizza and soon the three of us were gathered in my living room watching Live Free or Die Hard.  I made ice cream sundaes for everyone after the movie before our second selection Ocean’s 13 started… and after some careful negotiations a bit later – Jeff agreed on the guestroom so me and Miss Lisa could share the big bed.

Now I ask you – what could be better than that?  :P

Aside from a few excursions here and there – my life is pretty much just like anyone else’s: boring.  There’s only so much living in the fast lane that any of us can keep up with, and believe me, it does get harder as you get older.  Jeff often complains of feeling like an old man from all the years of abuse he put himself thru, and as for me, I’m a wife and a mom, so my nights out are few and far between… and maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be too.  I can deal with that most of the time.  (and since it’s summer and my son was sleeping out at his friend’s house for the second straight night in a row… I took advantage of the time!)

Lisa broke up with her boyfriend last week; it was really just an on and off casual thing for the last year or so anyway, so I’m thinking that she’ll be hanging out with me a bit more, which is what she says she wants to do anyway, so this is a good thing for everyone I think.  Maybe this is just an “off again” period, but I’m not complaining.

I’m pretty happy with my not so boring life.  :smile:

Today looks to be a day of shopping and errands – typical Saturday stuff.  I need to go to Nordstrom and get a new dress for something I have in the next couple of weeks, and I have to do grocery shopping too, and I’ll probably swing by Barnes & Noble to pick up this book I saw last week called Fetish.  It’s bound in black leather and is sort of a pictured dictionary of all sorts of delightful sexual kinks and bends!

I think it might make a good bedside table book!  :lol:

I heard from another friend yesterday who tells me that she hasn’t been in the mood to write very much lately, and I can empathize with that because I really haven’t been either.  These things always go in cycles.  Sometimes there’s a lot to say… other times… not so much…  but I’ll probably try and do some writing later today; I want to get going on the toy reviews that I’ve been neglecting which I mentioned here.  I think I’ll start with the glass dildos.  Those are always fun.  And I have several fictional pieces which need the next parts written… so, maybe some of that too if I’m in the mood.

And some people have shared some truly wonderful words with me about my work lately, so I think I need to give some more thought to putting a manuscript together and seeing if maybe there’s a larger interest in what I have to share.  I’ve never minded being small in this world.  Being the next big thing was never high on my agenda and I’ve always preferred being a lesser known thing but certainly a more appreciated thing…  so we’ll see.  Any situation I entered would have to be the right fit for me or not at all.

Something I learned a long time ago… being popular doesn’t mean being good.
