Snap, Crackle, Pop!
How does one come back to the party once they’ve left for the night?
Do you say something like, “Oh wow! I forgot my purse!” or, “Um, I left my scarf on the bed, I’ll just be a minute!” — I’m feeling a bit like that when it comes to geishaland… that I’ve left the party for the night and now I’m trying to figure out a way to nonchalantly saunter back to the soirée because I really wanted to ask that cute guy for his phone number but chickened out earlier in the night, but I can’t stop thinking about him, and it’s now or never.
So, maybe it’s time to come back to geishaland and see if that cute guy is still hanging around and maybe I can get his number.
I can’t say that I really have a lot to say right now – I’ve been living my life and enjoying things and taking everything day by day, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been busy and that there aren’t things worth talking about, but in some ways, I’ve become used to being quiet and not sharing my thoughts with the world. In so many ways, this time of sabbatical or introspection have been good for me… and as I predicted, it wasn’t going to be until the middle of September until I felt like writing again, so, I’m pretty close.
I’ve been spending some time in my women’s forum, and that’s been a bit of a learning experience. I don’t really want to say too much about that because I like to keep those two things separate, and I have to be honest, I need some privacy too.
Thanks to everyone who has written me countless emails which I haven’t answered! I do apologize for that, but I just haven’t had the head to put two words together – and also, people who have requested Sanctuary section access… yes, I’ll get to you. And those who are waiting to find out what that last thing I posted is all about! (yes, it’s worth waiting for…), and anyone else who has wondered about the fate of the lazy geisha.
Am I back?
Sort-of… we’ll take this day by day and see what happens. I’m still working things out.

Well, dearest Nina, it IS your party, so you do get to say what time it starts, and what we can all bring .
Glad you’ve enjoyed your period of privacy, peace, introspection, and reflection!!!! Do not feel badly about taking this time for yourself.

Yay! It’s good to see you back at the party. Knew you couldn’t stay away. Take all the time you need. As much as I love reading your entries, I would much rather you have more time to yourself. (And I have to admit, I came by here everyday waiting for a new entry. I’m bad.)

Oh my GOD NINA!!!!!!!!! I have missed you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will bring the lobster and white wine, anything you need? The summer has passed so fast. If you want, I have a camp I’m going to in October, it is eleven miles in the woods, only four camps on the pond, a wood fired hot tub on the porch, you can soak your troubles away and watch the Moose on the other side and than listen to the Loons talk. One of the great things about being a woman is that it’s expected of us, to change our minds and change them frequently. That and well, we have girl parts. :) I have to say it was great seeing you come back, even if it’s for a little while. Best wishes with finding your way.
